6.6.2012 Mikko Pajunen to Lapua rally with plenty of kilometers under his belt - Since winter the Finn has done rallying in Italy and testing in Finland

Mikko_Pajunen_LapuaSM_2012The Finnish Rally Championship continues in Lapua in the weekend. The last event was in snowy February. Mikko Pajunen travels to Ostrobothnia in a good situation. During the spring break he has done four rallies: three in Italy and one in Finland.

In Lapua Pajunen and his co-driver Kaj Lindström will drive in Tommi Mäkinen Racings Subaru.

- I have done a fair amount of kilometers. Of course in Italy the car is quite different (Renault Twingo Evo) from this Subaru, but at least we have been driving a lot. We did one test event in Finland in the Subaru, and its going to take some time to get use to, says Pajunen.

Pajunen is third in the overall standings after the winter season. He was third in all of the previous events.

- I am feeling pretty good. The car feels good, and it seems like a heavier car like this will do better in the summer than in the winter. We will do some testing before the event and try a few things with the shock absorbers. But I would say that everything looks right, says Pajunen.

- We will try to win, but it will take some fast driving. Last year we did the Lapua event in a small Renault, so I think we will have to write the pacenotes again even if the stages were the same, thought Pajunen.

The Lapua event takes place on Saturday. On Friday the drivers are allowed to drive through the stages and make the notes.
